About the Position
At Strait School of Music, we help students of all ages and skill levels become lifelong music lovers. We’re a growing school with a strong sense of community, and we’re looking for an experienced, passionate voice instructor to join our team.
The ideal candidate has a proven background in private lessons and/or classroom teaching, with the ability to teach across multiple genres and styles. Experience working with both children and adults is required, and professional performance experience as a gigging singer is a plus.
All lessons take place on-site, and our administrative team handles scheduling, billing, marketing, and facilities - so you can focus on what you do best: teaching. This is a part-time teaching position with opportunities to grow as our student base and programming continue to expand.
Current availability needed: Fridays and Saturdays
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance, Music Education, or equivalent professional experience
- 4+ years of private lesson and/or classroom teaching experience
- Advanced understanding of music theory and strong ability to demonstrate healthy vocal techniques and principles
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of ages, skill levels, and personalities
- Ability to pass a background check
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional performance experience
- Educational training, particularly in early childhood education
